Public Information:

Mose Technology NDT & Welding ApS is an approved third-party certification body,
accredited by DANAK in accordance with DS/EN ISO/IEC 17024.

General:
Mose Technology is responsible for ensuring that welder certification is carried out impartially and must not allow commercial, financial, or other forms of pressure to negatively affect impartiality.

Certificates issued by Mose Technology NDT & Welding ApS remain the property of Mose Technology NDT & Welding ApS.

Purpose of Certification:
The purpose is to verify and document the candidate’s ability to perform acceptable welds in accordance with the applicable standard.

Welders / Standard DS/EN ISO 9606-1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
The professional qualifications of the welder are of crucial importance to the quality of the welding work. To perform quality work, the welder must hold a certificate for plate or pipe welding, in butt or fillet welds. When the welder has the necessary knowledge, he may be presented for an examination, which concludes with the issuance of a certificate.

Welding Operators / Standard EN ISO 14732
Qualification of welding operators and setters for mechanized and automated welding of metallic materials.

ISO 14732 specifies requirements for the quality of mechanized and automated welding. Testing in both theoretical and practical knowledge is mandatory, covering understanding of the welding procedure specification: pWPS/WPS document, welding sequence, joint preparation, welding defects, etc., as well as a practical welding test to demonstrate relevant skills.

Brazers / DS/EN ISO 13585:2012
Brazing – Qualification of brazers and brazing operators.

Certification Process for Welders, Operators, and Brazers

Before Certification
If the candidate’s skills are found satisfactory, the candidate may proceed directly to examination. In other cases, the candidate may/must undergo further training and instruction to qualify for the test. Qualification can take place in the company, technical schools, or open workshops.

Applications for welder certification can be requested from Mose Technology NDT & Welding ApS.

The following must be agreed with the company before an examination can be scheduled:

  • Type of certificate requested; standard, welding/brazing process, plate or pipe, etc.

  • Place of examination

  • Number of candidates, including names and birth dates (candidates must present identification and sign the application)

  • Date of examination

  • For EN ISO 14732: determination of certification method 1 (procedure test), 2 (pre-production test), 3 (test piece according to EN ISO 9606), or 4 (production sample) and description of the welding unit

  • Base material and filler material

  • Dimensions and welding position of test piece

  • Confirmation that the applicant has access to a pWPS or WPS

Mose Technology will issue an order confirmation.

During Certification
The examiner ensures that:

  • The candidate understands the applicable WPSs

  • Test pieces meet the requirements described in ISO 9606, ISO 14732, and ISO 13585

  • The test piece is marked with ID, date, top mark, etc.

  • The root pass with at least one start/stop is checked and approved before welding continues

  • The test concludes with start/stop in cover passes

  • The welding process complies with pWPS/WPS/BPS

After Certification
The examiner visually evaluates the finished weld and accepts or rejects the test.

If the weld test is accepted, it must undergo NDT/DT testing.
NDT/DT testing is performed as accredited testing.

The certification manager reviews and evaluates the complete testing.
Mose Technology issues the certificate based on the overall NDT/DT testing. If requested, certificates can be PED-stamped.

Approved certificates are sent to the customer by e-mail and uploaded to the customer portal.

Retests

If a welder fails, a new test may be taken without further training, but only once. After that, further training/education is required.

Repairs

Weld repairs may be carried out during the welding process, subject to agreement with the examiner.

Certificate Extension

The company’s responsible welding coordinator must verify the use of the welding process by signing the welding certificate every 6 months.

Complaints

Complaints about the examiner, certification process, or assessment results must be received by Mose Technology NDT & Welding ApS within one month after receipt of the results. Information on further handling of the complaint will be provided upon submission – see our website for the complaint procedure.

Re-Certification

Certification and re-certification (renewal) may only be carried out according to Mose Technology’s procedures and under the supervision of Mose Technology’s examiners.

Mose Technology does not use re-certification. When the certificate expires, a new certification must be performed.

Misuse of Certificates

Certificates issued by Mose Technology may not be misused, e.g. regarding scope, expiry date, or transfer to another person.

If Mose Technology becomes aware of misuse or falsification, it is obliged to contact the relevant company and/or certificate holder. The certificate will be annulled if the holder is responsible for the misuse. If misuse is carried out by the employer, Mose Technology is obliged to address this and require that the misuse be disclosed to affected parties. The employer must also provide written confirmation that the certificate holder(s) will not be used.

Misuse will be reported to the Danish authorities and may be made public and prosecuted.

If circumstances arise that affect a certified person’s ability to continue fulfilling the certification requirements as tested in the qualification exam, the person is obliged to immediately notify Mose Technology, which will then annul the certificate.

Mose Technology undertakes to act objectively, competently, and impartially in relation to certification activities. The top management of Mose Technology declares that it has no financial, social, or other conflicts of interest regarding companies obtaining welder certification. Likewise, Mose Technology declares that it has no conflicting interests in relation to candidates being certified.

The top management therefore, on equal terms with examiners, signs a competence declaration confirming that competence is maintained in all the stated matters.

Withdrawal/Suspension of Certificates

If Mose Technology decides to withdraw/suspend a certificate, the certificate holder must be informed of the deadline when the withdrawal/suspension takes effect.

The certification body will also inform the certificate holder that the certificate must not be used after it has been withdrawn/suspended.
